Default Nerf FoW / Underworld

Hey everyone,

Because of the numerous amounts of players grinding their titles, "The Gods" have granted us ( last time I checked ) ~26300 minutes of favor. I think this is just stupid, The underworld and The Fissure of Woe are supposed to be elite area's, which can only be accessed if you are granted the favor, but these days it's always ( for at least 18 consecutive days atm ) accessible.
This affects many things, ecto/shard prices drop, the UW and FoW scrolls have absolutely no use anymore. And most of all the esteem that these area's once had, is rapidly declining...

So I suggest the following:
- The amount of extra minutes gained, from someone reaching a max title is reduced.
- We return to the old system, where if someone in HoH has 5 consecutive wins, "The Gods" grant an hour ( or half an hour ) of UW/FoW playtime. But offcourse this would be no longer territory-based.
- Everytime someone has finished a complete book ( hero's handbook/dungeon guide ) and hands it in, you get 5 minutes of favor for a normal mode one and 10 minutes for a hard mode one.

Offcourse there are many other options possible, these are only examples, but it is clear in my opinion that something has to be done, because this is getting rediculous. If next weekend is another double lb/ss point weekend, the amount of minutes becomes even higher and even more stupid...

Why?

Restricted access is a stupid idea to begin with if it's the difficulty of the area that makes it "elite".
Possibly there was a good idea somewhere in there, a reward for PvE players or a reason for PvP and PvE players to cooperate, but it didn't work out, and the restricted access silliness should be removed all together. It definitely does not need to be made more air tight.

Nerf: It will be (alot) harder to get into UW/FoW again, however, Ecto's etc will go up again, thus nerf and buff...

i guess you havent payed attention to ecto/shard prices then because they havent really moved. and anyway holding halls five times, while possible, is HIGHLY unlikely. i've only done that once, and it usually only happens during "noob hour". and if you REALLY want UW/FoW back then nerf ursan.... but thats another issue.

The system works as is. The problem is that roughly one month ago there was a double lightbringer/sunspear point weekend which we have been riding the favor of since. The counter has gone down by almost 10,000 minutes over that month, it will get back to 0 on its own. The only thing that Anet should do (if anything) is just reset the counter to 0, which they did halfwy through that weekend, or we would have had roughly 60,000 minutes of favor. I disagree with this idea though because if the players put in the time for their title, then they should still get the reward of access to UW/FoW. Prior to that double weekend there were times when we did not have favor.

Favor should never again be tied to HA as events there have absolutely nothing to do with PvE events.

People cried when there wasn't favor before. I doubt they'll sign something that's going to return to that stage.

actually while its true that it did reset half way through the weekend, that was, for the most part, unintentional. The counter has a limit of 36k minutes and wasnt made to go up that high.

stupid suggestion imo. like divine said, people kept complaining, omg omg omg i cant get into UW wtf am i gonna do. Now there's too much time so now you're saying wow i have TOO much favor. God, people can never be satisfied these days. It's one or the other, there's no middle here...

Plus you're complaining about ecto and shard prices? U even kidding me? Ectos have been around 5k, shards around 2k for the past months and months...seriously, they fluxuate every once in a while, then they stabilize back to 5k and 2k.

UW and FoW is an elite area, how is it not? Try going into fow with a party of wammos with mending and shit like that. not gonna work. You need a party, that knows what they're doing and how to do the quests etc. to clear it, and or farm it. Same with UW, try going in there with a 55 monk with some crappy build. Not gonna work. You need skill to play these areas whether they're open or not. Not like the enemy AI is changing everytime we get favor.

the uproar that occured when anet reset the favour during the double lb/sunspear weekend means that we actually have less minutes of favor that we should have right now.

These are great times for playing uw/fow, always groups forming, it has not been as busy in ToA since before factions came out.

Lets hope eternal favor continues for a long time to come.

All the elite areas should be opened up for level 20 players IMO.

They used to be, actually less. Then the requirement to be ascended was added to the entry. Granted you can still enter at less as long as you ascend first.

60 minutes/5 wins = 12 minutes

1 HA match = 12 minutes

So every one hour, 5 matches will be won, and we will have constant favour.

With the old system if you happened to play at a time that didn't fit in with other players it was REALLY hard to get into UW/FoW. My Guild was once made up of players who only played in the wee small hours, so the updated favour system was a blessing (no PUN intended). Also getting into these areas never proved anything about your skill, it's 'completing' them that to a certain extent does. /Not Signed

This seems abusable. To say the least. You'll get favor spikes similar to the one now, only unconditionally (not based on a 2x-3x weekend).

Greed isn't a good reason to change the system back to the garbage that it used to be. Some of us couldn't get into UW/FoW until 1am before, and even then, we'd lose favor minutes later.

Heh, you obviously didn't play when the old system was in place. USA by no means owned HA.

Depends on the time you play during the day as well.
